So many designs out there have a drawer cover but all of them force you to store the lid a certain way.  I always wanted an option so this cover can slide under the bottom drawer, or it can be removed and set against the back of the chest, safely out of the way.  A locking mechanism is used to secure the drawer cover when not in use.

The standard drawer layout consists of 4 2-inch drawers that are left and right from a 4-inch drawer designed for anything from project cards to recipe cards or handbooks.  The lower section has 2 1.5-inch drawers and 2 2-inch drawers.  All drawers have strong hardboard bottoms and all are numbered and removeable as needed.

This chest was designed with heavier tools in mind, so I doubled the drawer slides and tested it with a 35 pound weight!  The drawer frames are fully boxed with hardboard bottoms to ensure they will handle the heavier tools over the years.
